Our dog is Doberman - Lab mix, so she is tall with a deep chest. We tried a door that was for a 'large dog' that could be installed in a screen for a sliding glass door. Many times she knocked the dog door off, and a few times she dislodged the screen door. I found this one which is about the same width, but taller. Though it mentions screen doors, the minimum door thickness is greater than a screen thickness. I thought I would try this anyway and added weather stripping to the inside of both door halves, resized the hole in the screen, and assembled it to the door. Works great. Added benefit is that the door is more secure than the last one and has brushes around the door to better keep the bugs out. She has knocked the door partially off its track a couple times, but that has only occurred when she spots a squirrel and her aim for the door is a little off, but the dog door has remained in tact. I would suggest that the manufacturer make a kit for sliding door screens.
