IPL hair removal is a tried and tested method now, and I don’t think this device is much different to the better-known brands I've tried. I’ll say in advance that it takes time for these products to work. Also, be aware that there are some skin types and hair-colour combinations that these machines don’t really work with, so please have a look at the listing for more details just in case it won’t work on your skin/hair type. This device works by emitting a light that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair; the light energy is converted to heat, which damages the sacs within the hair follicles that produce hair. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth. Hair grows at different rates so you have to use this regularly for a few months, maybe every ten days or so, to make sure you get them all initially. After that you can reduce it to every or 6-8 weeks - you’ll have to adjust it to your own personal hair growing pattern but you’ll notice when the regrowth starts again. This IPL hair remover has 1-9 adjustable energy levels that you adjust for your skin and hair type, and 2 modes for zapping the hair – hold it down for larger areas, or short press for individual areas. It also has 3 functions (SC: skin care, HR: hair removal, RA: remove acne). There is an LCD touch screen to adjust the mode and level you need. It comes with 2 magnetic heads that fit over the lamp and these are for large areas or more targeted areas. A razor is also supplied, so that you can shave the areas before the initial use, and a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes while you are using it. This device claims to have 999,900 flashes so should really last a lifetime! The instruction booklet explains how to use it, and it is very simple indeed once you get used to it. Read it carefully though, in conjunction with the Amazon listing, so that you understand what you are doing and that will make it easier in the long run.
