Our older vacuum cleaner was a Hoover and we really loved it. The difference between it and the newer Hoover we feel the newer one has a lot of suction until you run over rugs and it kinda slows down a little bit but it still does the job of cleaning.Works great except for edge cleaning, it's non existent. You will need to get used the head swiveling very easily. It's a little difficult to keep it in a straight ahead motion. Also get two batteries to get your work done.wish it had battery charge indicator when using.picks up good on hard wood and carpet as long as you switch to correct flooring optionFast shipping and great vacuums.This vacuum is great with 3 different suction capabilities to cover any surface to be cleaned.The really “genius” feature is the easily removable brush that slides out from the side. No more dismantling the entire bottom of the vacuum in order to clean the brush and remove long hair.My order included an extra battery. For routine touch up one is good. For steps and lower level two will be appreciated.Highly recommend this vacuum.I love my Hoover, however the hose at the bottom of the vacuum tore apart after 17 months. I use my vacuum several time a day (2 dogs). I tried to get a replacement hose from Hoover, they do not have them. This Hoover vacuum had a 5 year warranty. Hoover company was amazing!! I had a new vacuum in 10 days!! Always check the warranty on any purchase!!Strong. Maneuverable. Easy brush cleaning. No edge cleaning.So far, we love this vacuum. I purchased 2 batteries just in case, (also thinking of buying the Hoover blower that uses same battery) but so far haven't run out of juice while doing 2/3 of a 2800 square foot home. This vacuum has great suction and we're very happy with its performance. Does well on our tile floors, laminate floors, and low pile carpet and rugs. We had two Hoover vacuums prior to this one and were happy with them, this one is much more powerful. It is a bit less manueverable, and heavier, but to be expected with the extra power. Glad we stuck with Hoover.
