I got this cage for a pair of society finches, and this was the cheapest available with the dimensions I wanted. I went for a large cage to give them plenty of room to fly and get comfortable, and this was just the right size! While the metal of the cage is pliable, it's perfectly capable of keeping birds inside and unlikely to be badly damaged (to the point of being unusable) in shipping if you get one.The stand + lower storage shelf that comes with the cage is perfect for keeping the birds at a comfortable height from small children or medium to small dogs. However, it is not the most sturdy setup, and will wobble with even gentle interaction. It's very unlikely to fall or collapse if you build it correctly, although you should still keep other pets (like cats and large dogs) and young children away from it, especially unsupervised. The instructions for building the cage are a bit vague and difficult to understand, but there are shockingly few pieces and with general furniture-building knowledge it's pretty easy to put together. All in all, I would say it took me a little under an hour to build. The spacing between the bars is ideal for birds on the smaller side, but the cage comes with platforms and ramps that could make the cage ideal for non-avian pets (like rats) too! This cage could comfortably accommodate 2 rats if desired, if my rat knowledge isn't outdated. This aviary also comes with a few wooden dowel perches and feeding cups, although I opted to use some that I bought elsewhere for aesthetic reasons.Beyond everything else, this is a fantastic cage for an excellent price that makes for a great beginner's tool if you're getting into the bird keeping hobby. No major complaints whatsoever; my finches love their home!
