My little dog weighs six pounds. I enticed her up and down the steps a few times with treats and she had the hang of it. These steps have worked out wonderfully for us. The only thing I have had to do is place something on the floor in front of them so they don't move. I have hard wood floors and they slide a bit on the floor. I used some sand in a plastic bag inside a tube out of fabric. I highly recommend these steps and the company selling these steps was excellent to work with.My dog loves these --and it is so cool watching him climb the stairs -- not to mention not having to get up to pick him up! He's seven & had no trouble figuring them out. You CAN teach old dogs new tricks!! ?Perfect for my aging dog who jumps off the bed too often for her slipped disc. Of course, and perhaps it is obvious, but these steps are only useful if you are the kind of person who sleeps with her dog. Which I am.Our bed is high and our dogs sleep w/us. We bought these thinking we would save ours dogs legs from the impact from jumping down. They would go left or right, but never use the Petstairz 3 Step. Their bodies were too long for the depth of the treads. Instead we put an ottoman at the corner of the bed and they use that (a single step mid-height worked). I praise the company for a prompt refund.Very expensive for what they are. Can be found much cheaperMy dog uses pet stairz for the couch and loves them! She is unable to jump up anymore on her own, so I thought I would try them out. I have a 5# chihuahua and the stairs are perfect for her size.Great Stairs! Perfect for my two maltese poodles to climb up on the bed. They were both a bit hesitant to climb the at first, but after a couple of hours, they got use to them.The little dog hated the other stairs purchased in the past but LOVES these. Soft and foam much better than hard stairs. These stairs are great for small dogs.
