We love this product. We bought it because our German Shepherd had knee ligament surgery and had to be kept off the stairs. We used it as a straight gate across the entryway to our foyer. We previously had a regular baby gate that worked on the stairs and we could just step over it, but one of our three dogs has had agility training and could clear it easily, which was a problem with it on the stairs. This one is tall enough that he hasn't tried to jump it. It serves the purpose very well, gives us easy access to the restricted area and keeps all three dogs out it. We plan to use it on our back deck in the summer to keep the little devils either on the deck or on the ground when necessary.The only suggestion I have is that it could use a more positive locking mechanism. We have caught the shepherd studying the latch very carefully trying to figure out how to open it. It will only take one time for her to bump it just right to get it open.
