This is a great clutch kit. My buddy was complaining about what he believed to be clutch issues with his 2002 HD Nightrain. He even had it to a dealer for service and they reported nothing wrong with it. Well we talked it out and he decided to just put a new clutch and spring in it. I never personally had used Barnett stuff, but thats just because I've never had to mess with clutches at all... but I pitched Barnett because Ive heard good things and its MADE IN THE USA. So I chose this kit for him along with Barnett "heavy duty" spring 502-00-01004. Upon taking the OE clutch apart we found a bad groove worn in the OE spring right wear the retaining ring is in contact with it. My guess is it was causing the spring to hang up causing what he described as slipping and not engaging properly on decel.. there was definitely some blueing on some of the steels which tells me it was definitely slipping. Well at the end of the day, he is very happy with the performance and how it really grabs and goes now. I was so impressed with the difference between OE and this clutch that I ordered it along with the Barnett coil spring conversion kit for my 02 Fatboy, and I dont even have any problems with my clutch. Two happy customers.
