I have a base 2014 Specialized Camber 29er. The saddle that came with it is the specialized henge which is the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever ridden on.I did extensive research and decided on the gel version of the Selle SMP Extra. This saddle is far and away the most comfortable saddle I have ridden on. I do xc mountain biking in Los Angeles. Mostly packed fire trails with lots of fast and fun downhill. Bear in mind this is a 140mm width saddle. Most mountain bikes come with a 143mm saddle. But nonetheless, it has infinitely improved my riding comfort.The great feature of the Selle SMP saddles is the nose that points downward. This has drastically improved the comfort of my crotch area and is a feature that I highly recommend to male riders reading this review.The gel aspect of this saddle makes it softer and squishier which results in decreased power transfer. So, if you're a racer, keep in mind the gel version of this saddle will result in less power and slower times.All in all, it has made me look forward to hitting the trails even more. The stock saddle on my Camber was destroying me. Even with thick padded cycling underwear being worn on my end, my nether region was on fire. I imagine the non-gel version of this saddle will have a firmer foam that will result in better power transfer. But if you're looking for comfort on any bike, you will not regret this saddle.Just look up a video on how to measure your sit bones on YouTube or have your LBS do it for you if they can. This is a more narrow saddle. So it may suit you if you have a more narrow sit bone measurement like me. The wider saddle was definitely part of why I was so uncomfortable along with the nose that stayed up the way almost all saddes do. Again though, this saddle is AMAZING!
