Attention: To ensure a smooth installation process, please do not cut off the zip tie untill the installation is finished!!! If the zip tie is cut off before installation, the lock will be open, but it is not a defect. After installation, the lock will firmly close due to the resistance on both sides. Installation steps: Insert bolt into the pet gate. Rotate the ring. Note: Rotate the ring, not the bolt. Fix securely between the door frames or walls by applying pressure. This gate arrived with a broken piece on the bottom latch. I contacted customer service through the seller’s website and was answered within an hour. I sent a picture of the broken piece and they sent one right out. We had it in less than a week. The gate is sturdy, works well and keeps my cats contained to the upper level of the house when needed. The gate is easy to use and adjusted well to fit the doorway. This has turned out to be one of the best purchases I have made and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good pet gate.
