This is more of an extreme brace to prevent rolling of the ankles. I wore them on both feet for a year playing football and had no issues after softer braces, aircasts, and taping was not getting the job done. They are big, which needs to be considered when buying shoes, and limit lateral movement, but if you're buying this brace its to prevent rolling of the ankle, and this will do that.
