My beautiful Sadie turned 11 yesterday, and as is typical with German Shepherds, she has developed some arthritis and could no longer hop up on the bed. This was torturous for her, because my a hole cat would sit on the bed giving her the stink eye as he curled up on the bed next to me. She had to settle for the floor next to me. Over the next several months, the cat continue to mock her. Then I noticed she was starting to have hesitancy getting in the car. So, I started looking for a bed step. I'm so glad I found this one. She is about 75 pounds, so I needed something sturdy. I have a small bedroom, so I hoped to find something low profile or collapsible when not being used. I had tried using a milk crate, but she was wary of that and wouldn't use it. Other dog steps were mostly made for smaller dogs. But these steps are awesome. It is foldable, like a step ladder. When opened up, it can be used as a ramp, or, you can open one or all three of the steps by lifting up the step and setting the wood panel that holds it up. Even though she can handle stairs, she was hesitant, maybe because she didn't know if she should start on the first step, or skip to the second, or whatever. And the the a hole cat decided he no longer wanted to sit on the bed; he would rather sit on the middle step. Once I moved the cat, she hopped right up and reclaimed her spot on the bed, and she is so happy. We travel to the country house every other week, and this folds up nicely to bring along there. The other things I like are that there is carpet on the steps, and it has a nice wood finish, so it looks nice. Highly recommend this for large dogs
